Anime Corner, in an article dated October 12, 2023 about the live-action premiere on December 14, says the manga has over 78 million copies in circulation. It does not say whether this is worldwide, and does not name a source.
A December 2020 Japan reference point
Denfami Nico Gamer, in an article dated October 12, 2023, states that the comics had passed 50 million copies in cumulative circulation as of December 2020.
This lines up with the Netflix wording in scale, but the two sources use different terms (circulation and sold), and the Denfami article does not cite a source.
What the figures do not cover
