Golden Kamuy manga sales: past 31 million copies in circulation
A completed seinen series whose circulation total kept climbing after its 2022 finale, driven by anime seasons and a live-action film.
Published: 2026-10-13. Updated: 2026-10-13.
Short answer: Satoru Noda's Golden Kamuy has passed 31 million copies in circulation across its 31 volumes, according to a Japanese report dated September 18, 2026 on a Shueisha Games board game release. Mantan Web reported over 29 million as of July 2024. Both figures are cumulative series circulation, not annual sales.
The latest circulation figure
Denfaminico Gamer, reporting on September 18, 2026 that Shueisha Games will release a Golden Kamuy board game on December 25, 2026, states that the 31-volume series has surpassed 31 million copies in circulation. The line appears as background in a product announcement, so it is a passing cumulative figure, not a standalone sales report.
The report does not say whether the total includes digital editions or overseas editions. We do not assume either.
How the total moved
Mantan Web, in an August 22, 2024 article on the live-action casting, described the series as having passed 29 million copies in cumulative circulation as of July 2024. Anime Explained, citing a Manga Mogura post, gave the same 29 million for the whole series as of October 2024.
Between July 2024 and September 2026 the reported total rose from over 29 million to over 31 million. That is a gain of roughly 2 million copies over about two years, and it is the difference between two rounded milestones, not a measured annual sales rate.
Cumulative circulation for the whole 31-volume series, as stated in each source. Rounded milestones, not annual sales.| Reported date | Circulation | Source |
|---|
| July 2024 | 29M+ | Mantan Web, August 22, 2024 |
| October 14, 2024 | 29M+ | Anime Explained, citing Manga Mogura |
| September 18, 2026 | 31M+ | Denfaminico Gamer |
Series run
Anime Explained reports that the manga ended on April 28, 2022 after reaching 31 volumes. Denfaminico Gamer confirms the 31-volume count in 2026.
A finished series with a stable volume count is easier to read than an ongoing one, because circulation growth comes from reprints, digital sales, and new editions rather than new volumes.
Where public evidence stops
We found no volume-by-volume circulation, no Oricon annual ranking for Golden Kamuy that we could open, and no Japan versus overseas split. We also did not find a Shueisha release for the 31 million milestone itself, only the secondary report quoting it.
Where public evidence stops: The milestones are rounded, undated beyond the report date, and mix no breakdown by format or region. Do not treat the 2 million gain since 2024 as a yearly sales number.
